A Pécsi Tudományegyetem Magyarország legelső egyeteme, amelynek létrehozását Nagy Lajos király kezdeményezte 1367-ben. Napjainkban a PTE hazánk egyik legnevesebb intézménye, ahol tíz karon zajlik magas színvonalú oktatás és kutatás.
